Prospects Based on Quality
Nowadays, there are lots people
who are very interested in having a career in the world of entertainment.
Sometimes only for the sake of their own hobbies and sometimes they want to do
it seriously and take it to the entertainment industry. Those people have been
trying many ways in attempting to attract the A & R team in recording label
or music publishing company sometimes by giving some new and unique music
arrangements or unique choreographies and many other things. Unfortunately,
there are some people who are trying to get in to the recording label only by
showing their outside appearance. This case happens a lot. There are lots of
difference between the local music publishing companies and international music
publishing companies. If we keep up with news from the music industry, we can
see that international recording labels always prioritize the vocal quality of
a singer, quality of a song, quality of a dancer, etc. The point is, they
prioritize the quality and outside appearance follows after that because
appearance can be managed easily. Different with some of the local music
publishing companies or production houses, well, not all of them. They usually
prioritize the age of the artist and their looks rather than quality.
Prioritizing the looks or
appearance and ignoring the quality will bring a bad image to the whole
countries’ entertainment industry that is practicing that kind of method. Entertainment workers from all over the world,
they always keep themselves up to date with entertainment news in many
countries. Indonesia is actually one of the countries with great prospects in
entertainment business. The real businessmen in entertainment industry always
pay attention to quality of an artist and not only their uniqueness. If people
are being smart, they will realize that looks or appearance will change as
people grow older. But if an artist always pays attention to the quality of
their dancing or singing or playing instruments, it will not change until they
become very old. The real entertainers are those who still attract people even
though they are already in their old age. By prioritizing only in appearance,
it will make other countries to start to underestimate the local recording
labels over here. This is something that everybody has to prevent.
Prioritizing only on appearance
and looks will make a country’s artists who apply that method to get left
behind comparing to the international artists abroad. Pay a very close
attention to the normal international artists. They all are good not only in
their looks but most importantly in the quality of the entertainment that they
bring. This is what makes them looking so expensive and being so expensive in
booking price for a single performance. Just see it this way, for instance, if
a record label is having a musician who is lacking in performance quality but
having good looks, what they are selling is only one thing, which is looks. But
when the musician has both quality and looks that means they are selling two
things which bring more profits. Well,
the first example is very easy for some new local entertainment companies,
because it’s very easy to find people with good looks and that means easy to
get money as well. But don’t expect that certain artist to bring them money
forever because this bad method is only for short term success.
We should really respect the
image and good name of our own country in any kinds of career we have by
prioritizing the quality of a work. Finding quick money is very easy but it’s
only for short term and the consequence is for a long term period of time. The
first image of a person is what will always be remembered by the other people
seeing that person. The entertainment world is basically like that. Whatever we
start that is what people will see us. If we don’t change it, it will affect
everybody not only the person who finds that quick money. We have to pay
attention for the future generations. We have to bring huge and bright
prospects for all of them. It starts with us and it starts from now.
