APPRECIATON FOR EFFORTS

Jessica Lona

Appreciation for Efforts

God created every human being to work for their lives. Just like what have been mentioned in the previous article that there are many kinds of work. Some people are dancers, musicians, bankers, and many others. The circle is like this, people are working for their lives and destiny hoping that on the way they will get rewards. Just like an employer working in a company and he will get salary from his employer as a reward for his effort. In this article we will be discussing about this topic which is appreciation. If we all keep up with the current news we read on the newspaper or what we watch on TV or sometimes what we experience in our lives, we can consider this world in lacking of appreciation. Many people nowadays think too much of the benefits that they will receive and neglecting the other people’s rights or rewards. This is basically one of the reason people are losing respect for the others. Everybody wants and deserves to be respected in many kinds of ways possible and that is the normal humans’ nature. Sometimes we can appreciate people’s efforts by giving them money or accommodation gifts and presents. Unfortunately, many people are trying to get away from appreciating people by giving many reasons and telling lies.

Appreciate other people, and other people will appreciate you. That is basically the perspective. What we do to other people, they will do the same thing to us. The moment we are thinking too much of ourselves and the benefits we get, that selfishness that is in us will prevent us from giving appreciation to the others who have been giving their efforts for us. For instance, somebody is putting their effort in helping our events or our works whatever it is. We have to give them rewards, even though maybe at that time we don’t have much money but at least we can give them small amount of it to show our gratefulness and appreciation for them or maybe by offering them meals or accommodations. Later when there comes a time where you are helping them, they will appreciate our help as well. What we sow that is exactly what we will reap in the future. A person who is planting a bad seed will reap bad fruits. Just like what is mentioned here, what we do to one person, many people will do the same to us. And we have to be very careful of that.

Giving people their right as in money doesn’t always make them as someone who is money oriented. There is a huge difference between someone money oriented and someone who deserves appreciation. When a person asking too much compared to what they have done, or when a person is asking too much compared to their work capability or experience, that person can be called as someone who is money oriented. But when a person asking for something that is comparable to what they have done or to their working capabilities, that person needs appreciation as in rewards. If we need other people to help us, we better be ready to give them rewards. In some cases, the reward is with money or accommodation. In some cases the reward is in gifts or presents.

Don’t take this topic as something offensive. Take it as a lesson for all of us. A person doing their responsibilities they have to be rewarded because it is their right. We know that everybody needs to help each other without asking for rewards. But it’s not always like that all the time. Everybody needs togetherness but everybody needs appreciation for their works and efforts. That is something normal. If we are not ready with the reward, then don’t ask people to do soooo much for us in the first place. It will give them burden. We don’t want to burden other people for our own needs. We have to know that they have given their time, efforts, sweats, and money too. Sometimes we have to see everything through their eyes and not through our own.

“Take off your shoes first, before putting ourselves in their shoes. “ It means, we got to take off our selfishness, after that we will be able to see and understand other people’s situation.
