Music with Purpose
Each and everybody in this world
was born with a future that says someday we all have to work according to our
own capabilities. When we’re talking about work, it is something that we have
to do our entire life. Anything that we want to get, we have to work for it
because there’s nothing free in this life. There’s some amount that we have to
pay. For instance, a person who is working in house residence marketing office,
they have a target of how many units they have to sell in a certain period of
time. It is basically the same like us as musicians. We have our own marketing
target of how any audiences that will get attracted to our music and buy it in
a certain period of time. But all of that targets isn’t really the reason of us
working as musicians. That is only a marketing achievement target. Let us just
go to the very essence of work. What is the real reason everybody needs to
work? Oh, maybe the reason is to grow up, to live, to eat, to have a family and
later we die. Well, that answer is not completely true. Here’s how to find it.
Make sure you love what you are
doing. When it comes to music it will be, “make sure you love your music.“ The
moment you write a song and in every details you making in one song, make sure
you love it. Why is that? The moment you
love it, you will give your whole heart and passion in producing and promoting
it. This is one of the most important keys in music. Maybe this point doesn’t
really connect with the whole article. But if you read thoroughly, you will
understand how it matches with everything.
Make sure it suits you. What is
meant in this point is that make sure your kind of music suits your passion,
character and soul. This is important because those three are the core of your
music. Many musicians love their own music but it doesn’t actually suits them.
And everybody else can feel it and the result won’t be good, which we will
discuss at the last paragraph.
Share your music as a dedication.
There are three kinds of musicians. First, the one who have music career to get
money. Second, the one who turn into a musician for his hobby. The third one, a person who wants to share
something else through music. My suggestion is combine all three of those type
of people. If music is only a way to get money, then people might think you as
someone materialistic. And if its only for a hobby, you won’t really get
anywhere because you don’t have a target. If you want to share something else
through music but you don’t want money and you don’t really love it either,
then how will you go on tour and spread your message. That’s the logic.
In this part, we all have to
understand that the reason of being a musician isn’t completely for ourselves.
The reason everybody have to work isn’t only for themselves. Anything good and
right that we have with us, we have to share it with others. God created all of
us because nobody can live alone. Everybody needs supports. Sometimes some
people can be motivated through dances and some people through music and many
things. Through the way we write our lyrics and through the arrangement of the
song. If we become a musician to compete against each other, that is a totally
foolish act. The more we compete, the more the chance of us being competed.
When we all choose our music to be a dedication, it is long - lasting. Make
sure that music suits you, then love it, and share it for the goodness of other
people because that is the main reason we become who we are now. Enjoy it as
much as we can because it will take us far and high and it will be long -
lasting.
